Silica Nanoparticles, Particle Size Standards and Microbeads
Silica nanoparticles size standards used in Contamination wafer standards and drug delivery.
Silica nanoparticles are particle size standards and spherical in shape. Silicon microbeads are highly accurate, monodisperse, NIST Traceable, size standards and available from 40 nanometers to 2 microns (2000 nm). Silica particles from 40 nm to 102 nm are suspended in ethanol to maintain monodispersity, while Silica particles from 105 nm to 2000 nm are suspended in 15ml DI Water solution. Silica particles have a refractive index quite close to polystyrene latex spheres, making silica particles useful for size calibration with wafer inspection systems, TEMs and SEMs using high powered lasers. Silica particle size standards used in drug delivery and to produce wafer calibration standards and silica contamination wafer standards. Silica microbeads are also available in 5 gram and 10 gram increments, or at any volume desired for industry requirements. Wafer Inspection Systems, SSIS, such as KLA-Tencor SP1, KLA-Tencor SP2, TopCon, ADE and Hitachi Wafer Inspection Systems can use SiO2 particles for size calibration. Silica Nanospheres are provided in particle sizes from 40nm to 2 microns to calibrate the size response curves of the respective wafer inspection systems and laser particle counters. Industries providing Portland cement, CMP slurries, pharmaceutical drug delivery use silica particles from 30nm to 2 microns. Silica microbeads are grown to accurate and repeatable size peaks. Silica nanoparticles are spherical and man made to specific diameters, where as most other process particles are non-spherical and non-uniform in size.
