Introducing the Next Generation of Cleanroom Foggers: AP30, AP50, AP100, and AP200
At Applied Physics, our cleanroom foggers support airflow visualization in pharmaceutical, semiconductor and other controlled environments. The AP35 remains a current passive/dewar-style LN₂ model; it has not been discontinued or replaced by the AP30.
The self-pressurized AP30, AP50, AP100 and AP200 models offer additional choices for airflow visualization. Their suitability depends on the application, configuration and delivered fog performance.
How Self-Pressurized Models Differ from the AP35
The AP30, AP50, AP100 and AP200 use a self-pressurized LN₂ architecture. The current AP35 uses a passive/dewar-style architecture. These are alternative approaches within the AP family; select between them using the actual delivery setup and study requirements.
Here’s what sets them apart:
1. Self-Pressurized LN₂ Delivery
The AP30, AP50, AP100 and AP200 belong to the self-pressurized LN₂ family. Pressure management and fog delivery must follow the operating instructions for the selected model. Evaluate:
Nitrogen delivery and flow control for the selected configuration
Available output and runtime under the intended operating conditions
Delivered fog visibility at the study location
AP30 is not a successor to or replacement for AP35. Compare the models under representative operating conditions rather than assuming that one architecture always outperforms the other.
2. Compare Fog Density Under Defined Conditions
Comparisons of fog density and consumption require documented test conditions. Evaluate these factors for the exact model and configuration:
Nitrogen delivery and water conditions
Fog delivery geometry, including hoses, bends and injection ports
Droplet characteristics specified for the model and operating conditions
Startup time, visibility and LN₂ consumption depend on operating settings, water and nitrogen conditions, and the delivery path. Confirm them with current model documentation or a representative demonstration.
3. Model Selection: AP50, AP100 and AP200
AP50, AP100 and AP200 are self-pressurized AP Series options. Compare each model’s documented configuration for:
LN₂ capacity and documented operating duration
Output and delivery requirements for the intended study
Heating and electrical supply requirements
Select using delivered fog visibility, hose and port restrictions, enclosure pressure, required runtime and handling needs. Room size alone is not a sufficient sizing method.
4. Verify Controls and Configuration
Controls and enclosure details are configuration-specific. Verify the following before ordering rather than assuming they are shared by every model:
Wireless control (optional)
Water-resistant capacitive touch displays
Unified sensors for water level and temperature
Simplified serviceability and part replacement
In Summary
AP30, AP50, AP100 and AP200 are self-pressurized choices alongside current passive/dewar models such as AP35. Select the architecture, handling requirements and delivery configuration that fit the study. A model number alone does not establish superior performance.
