Dry-fog equipment for label-directed applications.

DF2S DryFog disinfectant fogger for high-volume, residue-free biodecontamination in pharmaceutical cleanrooms.

DF2S equipment. Disinfection efficacy and residues depend on the chemical and validated treatment process.

COVID-19 and DF2S: verify the treatment process

Equipment discussed in this article includes:

and the following dry-fog model:

These are aerosol-delivery tools. An unspecified historical coronavirus test does not establish SARS-CoV-2 efficacy or a sub-minute contact time. Confirm the exact chemical, organism, application and test conditions before making a performance claim.

COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2. Some other coronaviruses cause common colds; influenza is caused by influenza viruses. Exposure can occur through inhalation of respiratory particles, so surface disinfection does not replace ventilation and other applicable infection-control measures.

CDC healthcare guidance supports routine cleaning and appropriate label-directed surface disinfection. Wiping is not inherently ineffective, and fogging does not guarantee coverage of every surface.

The DF2S Dry Fogger must be selected and used against a documented application.

Confirm current equipment specifications and validate the intended enclosure and load.

Nominal room-volume claims do not establish a validated treatment capacity.

Use only a compatible disinfectant whose current label permits the intended fogging method, surfaces and organisms. Do not select arbitrary aggressive liquids or generic peroxide mixtures. Aerosol droplets are not automatically a sterilant vapor, and distribution, evaporation and deposition depend on the formulation and room conditions.

Follow the label and validated procedure for cleaning, dose, contact time, protective equipment, ventilation, residual checks and re-entry. Whole-room sterilization and superiority over manual disinfection are not established by this article.

EPA guidance on fogging disinfectants: EPA has not evaluated safety and efficacy for fogging when the product label does not include that method.
